Financial Communications

Lineplot Productions designs high-resolution, high-end CGI animation that brings complex financial information to life. Applications include broadcast TV, advertising, consumer education, conference/trade show presentations, and internal communications.

Of special interest is intra-company communications between quantitative research groups and trading, compliance or other operations within a financial firm. For example, a research group may discover a fixed income arbitrage opportunity and create a trading strategy based upon synthetic bonds. In order to describe the mechanism and dynamics of this trade throughout the firm, actual market and simulation information could be crafted into a 3-5 minute video, accessible on DVD or internal web site. This content can be used internally, or, with masked asset names, in public displays of the firm's capability.

Litigation Support

Litigation support is a special area of financial communications, in which 13 people (judge and jury) without industry backgrounds must make a quick, vital judgement about a specific situation. In these situations computer animation can show who-what-where-how with clarity, avoiding jargon or formulas.

A 1992 American Bar Association journal article on the use of courtroom animation quotes the Weiss-McGrath report, showing "a 100 percent increase in juror retention of visual over oral presentations and a 650 percent increase in juror retention of combined visual and oral presentations over oral presentations alone."
